Purpose into Practice: Tobi Kyeremateng

Tuesday 8th February 2022

11am–12:30pm

In June we launched a new series of webinars, 'Purpose into Practice', focusing on purpose and values, and how these can help shape new projects, inform changes to business models and resourcing, and remain at the heart of our work.

As we move more to talking about values and mission, we thought it was extremely important to show how they influence and determine how organisations engage with different communities—whether that be their local community, an international community, or a community of artists, or a community of interest—as well as how purpose affects how organisations operate internally with their staff, their board, their resources.

We have carefully curated the speakers of the events to include organisations and practitioners who have worked with a diverse range of communities.

Tobi Kyeremateng is a multi-award-winning producer and writer from South London.

Tobi is a Senior Artistic Associate at the Bush Theatre, Trustee for Peckham Platform, Diversity School Initiative and National Youth Theatre, and mentor for Sour Lemons and I LIKE NETWORKING. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, was nominated in the Duke and Dutchess' Black History Month Next Generation Trailblazers, and was included in ELLE Magazine's '10 Trailblaizing Women Changing The Future You Need To Know'.

Tobi is currently developing her directorial debut docu-fiction film and is writing her debut non-fiction book celebrating contemporary Black British Theatre.

Tobi is the founder of the Black Ticket Project. an independent initiative creating cultural access points for Black people across England. BTP predominantly work with young people through youth groups, charities, youth workers, schools, and youth arts companies to help build relationships between cultural institutions and Black communities that are often racially and socio-economically marginalised.

This is a free event.
